Here are the detailed ride directions:
From the Lexington parking lot, take the Minuteman Bikeway
on the right and follow it for about 4 miles until it
ends in Bedford (railroad car and “The Bikeway
Source” store in red building)
Turn right on South Street (no sign)
At the light, turn left on 225 West
When you reach a VW dealership on the right, bear left
at the fork to follow 225 West (this is a tricky turn
– walk you bike to cross the road)
In about 1.5 mile, turn left on River Road, which later
becomes Monument Street (the sign is barely visible
– be careful not to miss it). This 4-mile stretch
is one of the quietest and most picturesque you can
find around Boston
Follow Monument Street to Concord. Right before entering
the town, you will ride past Old North Bridge (large
parking lot on the left, and tree alley on the right).
You can stop and walk your bike to the bridge
In Concord, go around half the rotary and turn right
on Main Street
Turn left on Sudbury Street on the left about 200 yards
after the rotary
Cross Route 2 at the lights; about 2 miles after Concord,
go straight on Garfield Road at the fork (another tricky
turn here – watch for traffic carefully). Garfield
is a nearly deserted backroad that will give you
At the end of Garfield Road, turn left on Route 117.
There is a bike path on the right side of the road starting
after about 1 mile.
At the lights, turn left on Route 126 to enter the Lincoln
area. There is a stretch of bike path on the right side
of the road.
After about 0.4 mile turn right on Codman Road. This
is another quiet road bordered by conservation land.

a rest there?
At the stop sign, turn left on Lincoln Road. There will
be a steep climb after crossing Trapelo road, but you
can walk you bike on the bike path on the left side
of the road.
Cross Route 2 at the lights and go straight until you
reach Route 2A
Turn right on 2A and ride for about 1 mile
Turn right on Mill Street, another quiet and nearly
secret road. At the next fork, take left on Lincoln
Street (house on the right with “JA Kingston”
name on mailbox) to take a nice dike road across the
Ride under the bridge and follow Lincoln Street on left.
Cross Route 2A (BP gas station) and take left on Worthern
at next stop
Turn immediately right at light on Mass Ave. Stay right
at fork on Main Street
Turn left on Depot Square to ride back to the parking
