Bradley Palmer State Park is a great place for a long walk in the woods and across open meadows. Equestrians sometimes use the Park and these open fields are part of an extensive network of bridle trails. Open spaces are a welcome change from most of the state'’s parks and forests, where dense woods usually prevent you from walking in the sun. Here, you will have a more balanced mix of forest trails and open fields that makes this walk very attractive.

From the parking lot, take the unpaved road closed by a gate under the trees (not the paved one below). Continue up until you reach an intersection of several trails in a small clearing. Bear slightly left to take the trail that goes up the hill. At a left bend, you will see a large open meadow. Walk down to it and follow the barely visible tracks of an unpaved road that sneak through it, slightly on the left and uphill. Always follow that large trail through the clearing and around Moon Hill on your left. At one point, you leave the clearing to follow a better-paved road and an intersection – another road heads to the right. Continue straight as the road slowly heads down back to the headquarters above the parking lot.
