As part of the Blue Hills winter 2005-2006 hiking program, the Rangers invite you to a walk through the Reservation's pines and hemlocks

We don't always pay attention to our environment, even when we are outside on a walk in the woods. To cast a fresh eye on the wonders of winter, the Blue Hills Reservation Rangers will guide a walk through stands of pines and hemlocks in the Reservation on Saturday, January 28. They will show you and your kids how these hardy trees, as well as shrubs and ground covers, stay green throughout the winter.

This will be a leisurely walk of about 1.5 hours. Due to the rocky nature of Blue Hills trails, this event is open to kids 12 and older. As usual, Rangers will be able to talk at length about the Hills, their vegetation and their wildlife, so make sure the kids come prepared with their questions!

Starting time is 1:00 pm; the meeting point is the Houghton's Pond main parking lot on Hillside Street in Milton.
